| Mike Bess Mike Bess is senior partner in ESD, a trained economist and planner with over 25 years’ experience in the field of sustainable energy. He has worked with some of the largest energy companies in the world, multilateral agencies, including the World Bank, the IFC, the European Commission and the UN, as well as private and public sector organisations worldwide. Mike has managed large projects for the European Commission, the World Bank, and various bilateral international agencies as well as providing consultancy services to a wide range of private companies. He is currently working extensively in the field of energy policy for tackling climate change, with a strong focus on making flexible mechanisms work. Mike is a leading player in the development and utilisation of
the Kyoto Protocol's "flexible mechanisms" of international
emissions trading, Joint Implementation (JI) and the Clean Development
Mechanism (CDM). He has designed activities and projects in each
of these fields and is currently providing advice and services to
the private sector and various public bodies in these areas. |
